HOW EASILY WE FALL INTO DEAD RELIGIOUS HABITS!

Think about this—was Elijah’s main mistake that he was personally shouldering the burden of Israel’s revival.

Assuming the place of God?

When God called Elijah out of the cave this is what happened.

“And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire; and after the fire a still small voice” (vv. 11-
                                                                                                                              In our world of pressures and continual distractions, the attention of our hearts must rise to the invisible world of God’s Spirit. We must learn to see Him who is unseen.  We have to seek this.  It didn’t take any discernment to hear and see the earthquakes but the “still small voice” took a recognition of the voice of God.

How easily we fall into dead religious habits and spiritual dullness! Lord, I long to know Your ways, to have eyes that really see and ears that clearly hear. Teach me, Lord Jesus, the intimacies of God. Remove the mystery surrounding Yourself that I might truly know You. Forgive me for looking for signs instead of listening for Your voice. O God, how I long to truly know You as Moses did, to abide in Your glory.

Restore to Your church the double portion You have promised, and guide us into the fullness of Your power. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

GOD GIVES ORDERS TO PUT THINGS IN ORDER

GOD GIVES ORDERS TO PUT THINGS IN ORDER

The lack of knowing the Word of God and obeying it is appalling in Churches today.

Ephesian 4

11And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
13Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
14That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

• He gave some

Not everyone is an apostle or prophet or pastor, or evangelist

But the Pastor is and remains God’s spiritual authority in the Church.  Where ever we go we submit to the Pastor.

There is a spirit that is attacking churches by dividing it and undermining pastoral authority.

When gifts assumes that their “prophetic witness” or intercessions are the guiding light of the church, or when they stand apart from the church leader and offer a different vision than what the leadership presents, it is a spirit of division.

This spirit of division will attack the church leadership with discouragement, witchcraft and confusion with the ultimate purpose to disable the spiritual authority of pastoral leadership.

The Lord Himself honours the order He creates.

Consider: the Lord appeared to Paul, spoke to him, actually blinded him in His glory, and then said, “rise, and enter the city, and it shall be told you what you must do” (Acts 9:6). Why didn’t the Lord just heal Paul? Why didn’t He just tell Paul what he had to do? Paul would have to learn that, to reach God, he would have to submit to man. This is God’s order and the Lord Himself honoured it. Paul had to hear about Jesus from Ananias.

Stay loyal to your Church by submitting to its leadership. Do not dishonour the leadership with gossip and dissension.

Pray the vision of your Pastor and in so doing you will help bring your church into the destiny of God.

Rev 2:26, 27 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

27And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

28And I will give him the morning star.

This spirit of division seeks to divide, diminish, and then displace the spiritual authority God has given church leaders. vision of the Pastor. The Pastor is the “head of the household” (see Matt 24:45).

God is a God of order; order precedes life and freedom. God’s mind is ordered; His will is ordered and He gives “orders” to put things in order.

REVIVAL THE SIMPLE WAY

The simple way to revival is through obedience.

Jesus said tarry ye and they did and the power fell.

Saul of Tarsus obeyed on the road to Damascus and was filled with the spirit after Ananias’ prayers.  The Spirit didn’t fall on Cornelius’ family until he obeyed God’s command to invite Peter.

Before a group of John the Baptist’s disciples in Ephesus received the Holy Spirit they believed the gospel of the Messiah Jesus and underwent baptism in His Name.

Let’s bring obedience to speed-up –the simple way to be revived and refreshed.
