A LIFE CHANGING CHOICE

The Bible says:

• “Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.
• Instead, fix your attention on God.
• You’ll be changed from the inside out…
• Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity,
• God brings the best out of you,
• develops well-formed maturity in you”

Romans 12:2 (King James Version)²And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

• Every day you must make a decision, a counter-cultural decision to focus on becoming like Jesus.
• As you do, God’s indwelling Spirit will make it happen.

THE BATTLE IS THE LORD’S

MATT 5 WITH LESS OF YOU THERE IS MORE OF GOD AND HIS RULE!

Our beloved Pastor Rev Paul McPhail ( who we lift to the throne of grace every day) for strength and new revelation.  Has been teaching on the Beatitudes the last few weeks.  It has been helping us understand this passage of scripture more fully.

^{The Message Matthew 5: 1-2} When Jesus saw his ministry drawing huge crowds, he climbed a hillside. Those who were apprenticed to him, the committed, climbed with him. Arriving at a quiet place, he sat down and taught his climbing companions. This is what he said:

 ³“You’re blessed when you’re at the end of your rope. With less of you there is more of God and his rule.

 ⁴“You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.

 ⁵“You’re blessed when you’re content with just who you are—no more, no less. That’s the moment you find yourselves proud owners of everything that can’t be bought.

 ⁶“You’re blessed when you’ve worked up a good appetite for God. He’s food and drink in the best meal you’ll ever eat.

 ⁷“You’re blessed when you care. At the moment of being ‘care-full,’ you find yourselves cared for.

 ⁸“You’re blessed when you get your inside world—your mind and heart—put right. Then you can see God in the outside world.

 ⁹“You’re blessed when you can show people how to cooperate instead of compete or fight. That’s when you discover who you really are, and your place in God’s family.

 ¹⁰“You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.

 ^11-12“Not only that—count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens—give a cheer, even!—for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble

Sheep Don’t Lead Themselves – A Shepherd Leads!

When I meet a pastor I have all the respect for them in the world.  Whether they have a small church or a large church.  Whether they have a big ministry or a small ministry.  God has appointed them to be Shepherd over the flock.

1 Thess 5:12-13 ¹²And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; ¹³And to esteem them very highly in love for their work’s sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

I have a pastor who speaks into my life regularly. I do not take any word he speaks lightly.  I listen, and I heed.  I obey, and I submit.  God has appointed him over my spiritual development.  He protects me with sound teaching.

I do not fall into the attitude of the modern church which has lost respect for God and His Shepherds.

GOD IS ABOUT CHANGE – He’s taking you somewhere!

GOD IS ABOUT CHANGE! —He is taking you somewhere… His abundant life, is dependent upon your participation.

The willing and obedient shall be blessed…Not the offended or the angry, will be blessed.  In fact the word says, you’re headed to your brick wall if you insist on offense, and the fruits of the flesh. 

• God loves us too much to leave us as we are..
• God’s true disciples—-are—–new creatures in Christ.—  This is an ongoing process.  It is learning of Christ… He said “learn of me.” 
• 2 Corinthians 3:18—   “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” By the Spirit —-
• We are pleased to not be who we were…( praise the Lord HE got ahold of me, and I got ahold of HIM.) We are being changed into the same image of Jesus Christ, from glory to glory—changing daily, as we submit to His purposes and destiny in our lives. 
• Rom 8: 1 says ” 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” 2For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. We don’t walk like the world walks we walk in the Spirit.
